Exteriors of Main Building Entrances
Shows High Street and Edwards Road entrances of main building housing assisted living, skilled long-term and short-term care, memory care and respite Care in both skilled and assisted living.
Assisted Living Interiors and Courtyards
The resident rooms shown are studio apartments and represent the majority of our assisted living apartments. Residents bring their own furniture and other belongings to decorate as they wish. These rooms contain a handicap accessible bathroom; a kitchenette with sink, cupboards, microwave and small refrigerator; and a living/sleeping space. Each has a large window. We also have several one bedroom apartments. All apartments open onto shared living room space. Each assisted living wing has two large living room areas, one of which has a fireplace and adjoins the wing’s dining room. Residents dine at tables for four or six.
Enclosed courtyards are accessed from each assisted living wing. These courtyards contain covered porches with cushioned benches and rockers, raised beds for gardening (residents also garden using large pots), sidewalks and benches or chairs for those who like to sit in the sun. Residents often like to decorate these areas according to the season and many feed the birds here. Some residents like to have birdfeeders outside their windows.

Skilled Nursing Rooms and Courtyards
Enclosed courtyards are accessed from different parts of our Health Care Unit (Skilled Nursing).
Our large inner courtyard has doors to access it from near the intersection of our 200 and 300 halls as well as from near where our 100 and 400 halls intersect. This courtyard has waterfall and small pond with goldfish, as well as a small community of box turtles that have lived there for many years. There are also plants to attract butterflies. Residents and families can sit in cushioned chairs in one of several areas. A number of resident rooms look out on this courtyard.
Our Memory Care Unit has its own secure courtyard.
There is also a courtyard and porch adjoining our activities room, not far from the main dining room. Families and their loved ones often like to visit here. At other times, residents enjoy an outdoor activity here.

Spaces for Visiting
Quaker Heights has many places where friends and family of residents may visit together inside the building. Some spaces have tables where you may share a meal or play a game. One area has books to borrow and a computer residents may use. Other spaces have televisions. Magazines and pianos. Not all visiting spaces are depicted, but those you see here show the variety of larger and small spaces. We also have a large community room (see below), accessed near Administration, which residents and their families may reserve for larger family social events.
Our independent living units are contained within three structures you see pictured here. They all front on North Street, which is the nearer the Administration and Assisted Living entrances off Edwards Road. The Assisted Living wings are directly behind these homes.
