Register to Play in Quaker Heights Pumpkin Bowl October 25, 2012

On Thursday, October 25th, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. teams will play in Quaker Heights' Pumpkin Bowl at J.D. Legends in Franklin. Ohio, just west of I-75 Franklin exit on St. Rte. 73. All ages are welcome but advance registration is required. Teams and individuals raise their entry fees to raise funds for Quaker Heights projects than benefit residents and patients. Funds raised go toward therapeutic equipment or resident activities. Quaker Heights Care Community is a 501.c.3 charitable tax exempt organization. Quaker Heights Care Community in Ohio’s Top 25 Best for Assisted Living

(Waynesville, OH)--The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) Survey of Long-term Care Resident Satisfaction results were announced March 30, 2012. ODA lists Quaker Heights Care Community (QHCC) in Waynesville as one of Ohio's 25 best in residential care (assisted living). In December 2011, ODA surveyed 10,476 residents in 577 nursing and assisted living facilities about their care, social and creative activities, dining, and other services. A little over 92 residents were questioned per facility. ODA evaluates resident satisfaction every other year with a family satisfaction survey administered in the year between. Eight-Year Old Honored for Her Giving Spirit

February 13th, Madison Lowe, third grader at Waynesville Elementary School, was honored by Quaker Heights Care Community Executive Director Wendy Waters-Connell in front of the Wayne Local Schools Board of Education members "for her initiative, compassion, commitment, and generosity in raising funds to help Quaker Heights residents." "Madison is truly an example of our organization's creed which is love made visible by service, " said Ms. Waters-Connell. She told Madison's story that has inspired Quaker Heights staff, trustees and residents. "Last year, Madison performed for our residents in a school play and was drawn to our elders. 2011 Survey Results are Excellent

The Ohio Department of Health entered Quaker Heights Care Community on August 2nd, 2011, for our annual health care survey and life safety survey. The Ohio Department of Health comes here unannounced one week out of each year to inspect our building. The surveyor's job is to make sure the facility is meeting all aspects of our resident's needs including nursing, dietary, social services and activities. While in our building, surveyors reviewed and observed staff, residents, charts and care. We are pleased to announce that Quaker Heights had another excellent survey in August 2011.
